Gluten chicken works well in any recipe that uses chicken pieces. The gluten will look more like chicken if you break it into pieces with your hands.
Chow mein
- Saute:
- 2 tbs. oil
- 2 c. gluten (chicken or beef-flavored) pieces
- 1 tbs. dried minced onion
- Add
- 4 c. bean sprouts or Chinese vegetables
- Combine in a bowl:
- 2 c. water
- 1 bouillon cube (chicken or beef)
- ¼ c. cornstarch
- Add cornstarch mixture to pan of vegetables and stir until thickened.
- Serve over rice. Makes approx. 6 servings.
This looks a lot like chow mein from a can and works well as a food storage recipe. In regular life, try gluten chicken with fresh vegetables in any Chinese recipe.
Chili Con Queso
Our favorite gluten recipe!
- Combine and heat:
- 2 c. chicken gluten, cut into cubes
- 2 cans (10½ oz.) cream of chicken soup
- 1 small can chopped green chiles
- 1 tbs. dried minced onion
- ½ c. water
- Alternate layers of sauce, tortillas, and grated cheese.
- Top with cheese and bake at 350° for 30 min.
