Gluten beef works well in any steak-type recipe.
Beef stew
- Combine in large pot:
- 3 c. beef-flavored gluten, cubed
- 3 tbs. oil
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbs. dried minced onion
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- ½ tsp. pepper
- ¼ tsp. paprika
- 6 carrots, sliced
- 3 large potatoes, cubed
- a green vegetable, such as peas
- water to cover
- Cover and simmer for 30 min. until vegetables are tender.
Stroganoff
- Cut into strips:
- 2 c. beef-flavored gluten
- Brown strips in:
- 2 tbs. oil
- Add:
- 1 can (10½ oz.) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 c. water from gluten broth
- 1 small can mushrooms, drained
- Simmer.
- Add to taste:
- sour cream or ranch dressing
- Serve over flat soup noodles.
