Wheat berries are whole-wheat grain.
Crock pot cooking method
- Combine:
- 1 c. wheat
- 2½ c. water
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Thermos cooking method
- Combine in a quart-size thermos:
- 1 c. wheat
- 2 c. boiling water
- Leave overnight.
Makes 3 cups.
As a meat extender, use cooked wheat berries with hamburger dishes such as chili, sloppy joes, etc.
