Bean Porridge

Advance Preparation

  1. In advance, combine:
    • 1½ c. cracked Great Northern beans
    • 1½ c. cracked wheat
    • 1½ c. cracked brown rice
  2. Divide mix into two bags, one for each batch.
  3. Add a label “Requires 8 c. water.” to each bag.
  4. Measure into each of two other baggies (one for each batch):
    • 2⅔ c. instant milk
  5. Measure into each of two other baggies (one for each batch):
    • cinnamon sugar (for sweetening)

Makes two batches.

Cooking Instructions

  1. Combine:
    • 8 c. water
    • instant milk
  2. Heat milk until warm.
  3. Add and simmer until thick.
    • cracked cereal mix
  4. Serve with cinnamon sugar and dried fruit.
