Crackers

  1. Mix:
    • 1½ c. wheat flour
    • 1½ c. white flour
    • ¼ c. wheat germ
    • 1½ tsp. salt
    • 2 c. rolled oats
    • ¼ c. sugar
  2. Add:
    • ½ c. oil
    • 1½ c. milk or water
    • ¼ c. sesame seeds
  3. Knead until smooth.
  4. Generously flour the work surface and roll out a piece of dough to be thin like a tortilla. (A pasta machine will also work.)
  5. Place dough on a greased baking sheet. (If needed, you can use the rolling pin to flatten the dough some more after it is on the baking sheet.)
  6. Use a pizza cutter to cut lines into the dough to form squares.
  7. Bake at 375° until golden.
  8. Break up along the cut lines. Allow to cool before storing in a sealed bag.

Cracker Variations

Onion and Cheese

  1. Add with the sesame seeds or knead into the mixed dough:
    • ½ tsp. salt
    • 1 tsp. onion salt
    • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  2. Sprinkle parmesan on top and lightly press into the dough with a rolling pin.

Onion and Dill

  1. Add with the sesame seeds or knead into the mixed dough:
    • ½ tsp. salt
    • ½ tsp. onion salt
    • 2 tsp. dill weed
